Art Ignite’s Open Studio program was started by our ED, founder, artist, and Flemingdon Park resident Tasneem Dairywala. Her vision was to create an inclusive space in Flemingdon Park with mentorship from professional artists for anyone wanting to create, experiment or exchange ideas. Through a partnership with the Flemingdon Park Library the program has been offered over the last years every Friday as a free program. In 2018 the program was generously funded by the Toronto Arts Council, and our participants had the opportunity to learn and engage with 7 guest artists.
This winter we will be showcasing works from all of our Open Studio workshops that have happened in the past year. Join us for light snacks and drinks as we celebrate Art Ignite’s Open Studio Exhibition and the wonderful art created by the Flemingdon Park artists! Please share with your family and friends.

Walk Together Children: Musicians, dancers, and other artists from Toronto’s African, Jewish and Shia Ismaili Muslim diasporas unite in a joyful sharing of their cultural traditions.
Repainting Perceptions was a photo and painting workshop where residents from the Flemingdon and Thorncliffe Park communities had the space to share their stories, challenge religious and cultural stereotyping, and break through social isolation.
