Curious about embroidery? Join us for a free online embroidery workshop for absolute beginners on Saturday March 20, 2021 from 10:30am-12pm.
In this session, textile artist Cecília Garcia will discuss some of her favourite materials, embroidery stitches, her artistic practice, and how nature inspires her textile work. Join with your embroidery supplies to stitch along (optional) or just sit back and listen to learn more about embroidery.

- Embroidery hoop
- Scissors
All supplies can be found at Michaels craft store.
Cecília Garcia | Cecília Garcia is an arts manager, community organizer, and emerging textile artist based in Toronto. Originally from Brazil, Cecília holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in film studies and has built a diverse portfolio working in the arts sector. Currently, Cecília is the Program and Volunteer Manager at North York Arts, sits on the Board of Directors of CONOSER, and contributes as a grant writer and facilitator to Art Ignite. Her artistic practice has included film, media, community arts, and textile arts. Throughout her career, Cecília has had the immense privilege of being a part of organizations and projects that have helped build communities through the arts.
This workshop is open to participants of all ages in all locations. The session will take place online over Google Meet.
